Welcome to RM - The independent rock and metal management
Introduction
Before you even think of getting help from an outsider or sign a management agreement you have to sit down and think things over.
Ask yourself: - Is this something that I/we really wanna do for a long time forward? - Do I/we have what it takes to work as hard as it takes to reach our goals? - Performing your act for no pay until you establish yourself in the music business? - Are you willing to do anything to achieve success? - Are your songs really strong, are they any good? - Is your live show entertaining? - Do you have a family that truly understands what this is all about?
And at last: Are you willing to cooperate with RM at all times to reach a significant level of success?
If you can say yes to at least 95% of the questions above, you just might be ready for a management that can and will work for you!
Our task is to work with musicians who create music we believe in, to work with musicians who are cooperative, have realistic expectations, and believe in our capabilties, and to develop and enhance our clients' careers to their fullest potential.
We are our clients resource for getting signed, A&R, music marketing, record deal information & much more.
We can for example assist you with: - Personal management, career direction and supervision. - Mediate your promos and presskit to radio and media. - Media contacts for interviews etc. - Managing task as promogigs/concert booking, commercial tasks, etc. - Promotional contacts, national and international. - Artist development, imageing. - Distribution networks that suits your musical genre. ...And maybe a ton of other things!
Do NOT send us any musicfiles via E-mail, use ordinary snailmail!
Okey, thats it, you are now a few steps closer to sign that management agreement but we need some things from you before we put the ink on the paper.
- Retail-ready CD (current and previous CDs, if available). - Or, a damn good/studiomade promo without any bullshit/crapy sound. - A band bio. - The name of an existing contact person, a bandmember is a good start. - Full contact info and a website adress if available. - Your permission to copy and convert your music to digital media files. - That you have payed the start-up fee in time as agreed.(77$/63 euro)
Now we are nearly there, when we have listened to the song/record/promo of yours and we liked it, it´s finally time to sign that deal, hey!
This is how it works: - We´ll send (by E-mail) a copy of the agreement as agreed, for you to sign. - After you signed 3 copies, you just send them back (by snailmail) to us. - In a couple of days you´ll get your copy in return (by snailmail). - So, now we are ready to go!
Remember, those who fail to plan, plan to fail. Not every band needs to have a management, but every band does need management in one way or another whether it´s by a bandmember, friend or professional.
If you think that you got what it takes and your material is great - Go for it!
Success in this business takes a TON OF WORK by a whole TEAM - from the artist to the roadies and everybody else (record label, booking agent, legal, accounting, merchandising, publicist, tour manager, sound & equipment people, etc...). T he manager is the one who makes sure that everything is being done by somebody. In the beginning of a career, the manager will sometimes take on some of these responsibilities. But it shouldn't be on their backs alone.
Additionally, you should hire a manager because you like their plan, their method and their dedication. Once you hire a manager, you need to let them "manage". And part of being a good artist is AGREEING to be managed. That is one part of the equation that is sometimes left out and leads to a rocky and working relationship.
Not everybody needs to hire a manager, but every artist does need management. Remember, those who fail to plan, plan to fail. Whether it is by a band member, friend, professional, etc., management is crucial to success.
Radio Management
The record industry is a hard world to work in and a even harder world to get in to. Without the necessary contacts and a working management, a band, how great they might be, have a long way to go and most of them never reaches their goals.
To gain your goals you need to work hard. The main task for the band is to play and make great music, Radio Management can help you with all the other things that´s important.
To locate the market, arrange gigs, marketing and to serve the media are some of the things that we can assist you with.
We have been working with management since 1999 and we have contacts in Europe USA and Asia.
Our job is to make your music heard, and that is what we do!
As far as it´s possible we are working with modern technique such as Mp3/WMA files for distro, On Demand technology o.d.
What we gain in modern technique is first of all - time.
We can send a promokit by using the Internet and have your music played a.s.a.p - long before the snailmail gets to the location. Time is money!
We create an intresting and selling promokit and we know where to send it.
What we do is nothing odd, we are doing things the same way as all the other management companies, we are just using modern technique in a different way.
Management Agreement
A management agreement can contain
- Promos and presskit to radio and media. - Concert booking, live events. - Media contacts for interviews etc. - Info published at our "artists" site. - Managing tasks, commercial etc. - A promotional website for the artist/band (We are able to "set and go" in minutes!)
To succeed - A process
We are working in different steps to gain success
Step 1: The right promo material for the right product. Step 2: Dispatch and booking of promogigs. Step 3: Follow-ups and marketing in branchmedia. Step 4: We are the contact for media, bookers, both national and international.
Step 5: Record companies, gigs and mediacontacts.
How to sign a Management Agreement
First of all we need a copy of your record/promo/demo or a Mp3 file sent to us by snailmail. Be sure to enclose info about the band, website postaladress and a contact person. It´s a good thing to mention what you want us to do as well.
We only work with bands/artists that we truly like ourselfs, if we love what we hear we will love promoting it!
A personal contact with our costumers is something that we highly value, a contact based on "Dont call us - We call you" is nothing we beleive in.
After we have recieved your material we will listen and send you an confirmation E-mail either we like what we hear or not - totally out of charge.
All management agreements have a start up fee of 7$/63 Euro.

Hate Is Just A Feeling
(Ex. Mansic) - Started at the end 1999 as [sic] in a garage in a small town called Norrtälje just outside Stockholm. The brothers Nizze and Micke decided to do something with their wasted spare time. The started [sic]. The band released their demo, the self financed, 8 track CD Waking Up and in 2001 they went on a Poland tour before they knew what hit them. All the members werent into it enough so after a short trip to Holland and a couple of gigs Nizze made some rearrangements and changed the name to Mansic.
Mansic went on an european tour with the spanish ska-core band"Stroh" and released the DIY CD-R album "Punkrock Paperdoll". Micke was back on base after som changes in the line up and once again the band went out for another european tour, this time together with the american band "The Fux", the year was 2003. The same year Mansic released their debute "Everyday is a Tragedy" at the small Södertälje based label "Bug Records". In 2004 they went to the studio to record "Beautygone". The album was released 2005 at "Kjell Hell Records" and will be released in the U.S by "Digitone Records".
In july 2005 Mansic changes their name to Hate is just a feeling. A European tour is coming up during 2006.

Distance
Peder Andersson wanted to do a record back in 2000, he had 23 powerful tracks but no bandmembers and no record deal.
One year later the record was done and the band was formed under the name of "Soi".
In 2003 they changed their name to "Distance" after a track on their latest promo called "In distance", a year later a Swiss record company signed the band and they started to work on a fullength Cd, also called "In distance".
The Swiss RC went out of money and they released the band from the contract after only 11 months, just as the band had started to record their second album.
Back in Sweden they finished up all tracks and mixed the material in the basement of Peder´s home, the final product got the name "Bankruptcy"...
The new Cd "Bankruptcy" and a re-release of "In distance" will be distributed by RM. The band also have a management agreement with RM til the end of 2006.
